Winter Sailing XP

3rd-10th February 2024

After the tremendous success of this trip in 2023, we are delighted to be able to bring you this opportunity for a week of beautiful sailing in one of the world's premier sailing areas again in 2024!

We are able to offer you the chance to get genuine skippering miles under your belt, including some serious tidal planning.

Parking, crew management, working up positions, dynamic assessment of journey progress and ETA, sail management are but a few of the areas you will get experience of that were simply introduced through RYA courses.

You will be able to tick off a number of boxes if you are accumulating miles for any of the RYA qualifications beyond Day Skipper.

Sailing aboard Deep Blue (Bavaria 46), we will have everything we need for a sail you will never forget!  On board heating overnight is included!!

If you have a taste for adventure and want to test your skills and your experience, then please do get in contact.

7 days on board - approx 250NM

Departing Largs Yacht Haven with stops on route - Campbeltown, rounding the Mull of Kintyre to Ballycastle (Northern Ireland), Port Ellen, returning to the Clyde for a 60NM trip to Inveraray, East Loch Tarbert and returning to Largs.

All journeys are subject to weather conditions. Being winter in Scotland means less daylight so lots of potential for night sailing, subject to crew strength.

Staying at safe harbours overnight (and keeping warm) is a priority.

All food, fuel and marina fees are included in the price so no hidden costs!

Tremendous week of tidal gates, wind, snow, waves, night sailing, passage planning, great restaurants and good company all wrapped up as a learning experience. Doesn’t get much better!  Will be repeating next year, no question.

Just returned from the Winter Sailing Adventure on the West Coast of Scotland. An amazing week of sailing in a variety of weather conditions. I'll definitely be back for more in the future. Blair pitched his coaching style perfectly and safe to say we all benefitted from his knowledge and expertise. Looking forward to the next one!

Martin, South Shields - Jan 23

This was an amazing trip a week around Scotland's west coast, a bit of everything in terms of weather, lots of wind and sails always out, 1st class sailing and challenging at times. Perfect for developing YM skills, big shout out to Blair for his next level coaching.

Fantastic group of fellow sailors, thank you guys for a truly memorable experience.

Dave, Leeds - Jan 23

This was my first sail after completing Competent Crew back in July. It was a bit of a step up in terms of weather, tides, currents but WOW and I mean WOW. A night sail around the Mull of Kintyre, seeing the Milky Way was a true highlight. What a glorious trip!
